This program is a fun and easy way to learn about your child’s health and development. This service provides ideas about what to teach and at what age to teach it. Questionnaires are mailed out every 4-6 months until your child’s 3rd birthday. This program includes personalized information about fun activities for you and your child to do together too.
What is MECSH?
In-home visits to support healthy decision making and effective parenting through the joys and challenges of being a parent.
- A nurse visits you regularly during pregnancy, after birth, and through your child’s 2nd birthday at no cost.
- A voluntary, structured program to support your parenting journey.
- Nursing visits take place at your home or another place where you feel comfortable.
What does MECSH include?
- You will be connected with a nurse who will provide the following services:
- Guidance and answers to questions specific to your family and your needs.
- Confidence building and decision-making skills that support your goals, with incentives for completion of those goals.
- Connections with other community services to support your goals.
- Information to hep you learn about health topics including:

- Pregnancy and your wellbeing
- Birthing choices
- Feeding and caring for your baby
- Ways to encourage your baby’s development
- Communication with your baby
