Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP)

The Statewide Health Improvement Partnership’s (SHIP) goal is to address leading preventable causes of illness and death such as poor nutrition and physical inactivity by working with community, worksite, healthcare, and school leaders to implement policy, systems, and environmental changes that positively affect health.

SHIP Focus areas:

Healthy Eating:

  • Worksite healthy snack stations
  • Hydration Station
  • Increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Food Rx: Prescription for healthy eating

Commercial Tobacco-Free Living

  • Tobacco free workplaces, schools, healthcare sites policies

 

 

 

Active Living

  • Encourage walking and biking to school
  • Support active transportation policies
  • Treadmills and bikes at worksites
  • Supporting movement throughout the day

 Mental Wellbeing

  • Zen/Calm rooms in the workplace and schools
  • Supporting Employee Assistance Programs

Equity and Inclusion are key parts of SHIP’s mission. SHIP works closely with communities to find fair solutions and fix unfair systems from the past. The focus is on listening to community voices, solving the real causes of health gaps, and making sure all Minnesotans feel safe, welcome, and strong.
