Radon Tests

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil and rock. It can enter homes through cracks and openings in the foundation, where it can build up to unsafe levels. Long-term exposure to radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recommends that all Minnesota homes be tested for radon—especially during the winter months when homes are closed up. Kanabec County Community Health offers radon information and can help connect you with testing kits and guidance for reducing radon levels if needed.
